He spent 15 seasons guiding in Alaska and Kamchatka, Russia, and a few winters guiding in Argentina. When he wasn’t guiding, he spent lots of time traveling and exploring rivers and lakes in New Zealand, Alaska, Argentina, British Columbia and Montana. He currently is Travel associate in THE FLY SHOP in Redding, California USA.
Since 2001, Thomas has been working with worldwide fishing travel and has been responsible for introducing many foreign destinations to Europeans, and of recent years to a global audience. Thomas has been fishing in more than forty countries and his company Getaway Fly Fishing has developed unique fly fishing programs in Greenland, Nicaragua, the Maldives and the Bahamas, to name a few. He is the owner of Getaway Fly Fishing, based in Denmark and work with us on Greenland’s three best rivers.
Afu was born and raised in the Maldives, he spent his youth exploring, learning and perfecting the passion of fishing in his own way. Few years back he decided to form and establish a fishing charter service that would diligently and professionally facilitate recreational fishing holidays in the Maldives. Jungle Fly Fishing explorer and Untamed Angling Co-owner and CEO of Brazilian operations, his home waters are not more, not less than the Amazon jungle rivers. Working in Amazon deep into Indian reserves, allows Rodrigo to access really virgin waters every season. Having fishing his entire career in the jungle for Freshwater Dorado, Peacock Bass, and other jungle species shaped him as an angler. Even being exploring waters in other remote fresh and saltwater destinations, the jungle is his favorite place to be. His expeditions and operations in complete partnership with Amazon natives are in the cutting edge of jungle fly fishing. Exploring wild and remote waters in the Amazon with the natives and discovering new species and to catch on a fly rod is one of his favorite things in the sport.
Having trained as an angler on the Argentinian Paraná watershed from an early age, Marcelo is devoted to dorado and travels and explores new jungle environments in South America in search of this fish. He is also an Argentinian architect, the CEO and Founder of Untamed Angling, and creator of the company’s concept and project model. Marcelo wrote about fly fishing for dorado in magazines in Argentina and Spain until he founded Untamed Angling. He has also developed and designed internationally recognized fly fishing projects, such as La Zona, Far End Rivers, Desroches Fly Fishing Adventures, Tsimane, and, more recently in collaboration with his friend and business partner Rodrigo Moreira Salles, new destinations including Rio Marié, Kendjam, Pirarucú, Xingú, and El Faro Lodge.
Nate comes from a long line of Montanans. He’s been fishing for as long as he can remember and started Fly Fishing at the age of 13, once he did, it was love at first cast. After 20 years Guiding in the Yellowstone, Bighorn, Stillwater and Boulder rivers he has worked with anglers from 8 to 90, beginners to experts, families and large groups. He knows that teaching people the skills they need to get the most from their Fly Fishing takes time, and this process makes memories that last a lifetime for the angler and himself.
Keith Clover is co-founder of African Waters. African Waters (A.W.) is a company that specialises in developing fly fishing tourism to protect, rehabilitate, and conserve some of Africa’s most vulnerable and wild aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Keith and the A.W. team achieve these goals through developing and managing fly fishing camps in some Africa’s most pristine and remote wilderness areas. Matias Gimenez started in the world of fly fishing at an early age, when he was 15 years old, he did trainings with the best fishermen in his country, Argentina, and between 2001 and 2006 he worked as a freelance fishing guide for several freshwater operators. Since 2007, Matias Gimenez has worked for Avalon Outdoor, and in 2010 he has served as commercial manager, achieving together with the Avalon Outdoor team a very important expansion in the protected fishing areas of Cuba, and currently counting on the possibility of protecting more than 25% of the coastal areas of Cuba, developing sustainable activities and always with a view to preserving and improving the marine resource for future generations.
Born and raised in Bariloche Patagonia, Alex has been fly fishing since child. He’s always dreamt about being a guide and making his passion for this beautiful sport also his occupation. After few year of research in Patagonia he founded Austral Kings Camp with his brother Nicolas, the first fly-only operation in Chile targeting King Salmon. He has also has explored extensively several areas in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Panama and Russia.
Grant is one of the premier guides in the world for saltwater light tackle and fly fishing with over 90 world records under his guiding skills. Anglers seeking extra instruction on their bluewater fishing and fly or light tackle casting skills can retain Grant on board for their fishing day. Grant also conducts beach fishing trips for individuals and groups.
Mauro is a guide and photographer based in Bariloche, Patagonia Argentina. His passion for chasing migratory fish took him from the southern seatrout rivers of Patagonia to the far northern lands of Scandinavia where he guides and fish for Atlantic Salmon. Chrome fresh fish is his passion. Norway is his second home during salmon season, mainly in the Orkla river. He also is a spey casting instructor, lending talks, and casting clinics around Argentina. In the last years, he started to design his own lines and rods.
