The best fishing in Estancia Maria Behety

We had the pleasure of a visit from friends from England, United States, Bosnia and Switzerland. And the fishing was great this week!

We had very low water on Sunday and Monday, but on Tuesday morning the river started to rise due a heavy rain up in the mountains. By Wednesday morning water rose about a foot and got dirty. The river started to drop on Wednesday night, and the fishing got really good really quick!

LA VILLA REPORT

This week has to be looked at as 2 totally different parts... the first 2 days continued the low and clear water and we had great fishingand then on Tuesday the water rose and the river got dirty, changing everything. The Menéndez river, our biggest tributary, blew out pushing dirty water to the Rio Grande. With the raising the water levels the fishing got difficult for a bit. Heavy lines, big flies were required, but we got fish fish on the line anyway. By Friday though, the river was all ready clear again.

The upper river still  remains really low and clear with difficult fishing up there.
